The Oley Foundation is run by a small staff of dedicated employees and volunteers. Our normal hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. The office is closed for major holidays.

Meet the Oley Foundation Staff


 

 

 

Beth Gore, PhD, is a national patient safety advocate, author and speaker who represents patients through patient associations, serving on boards, and being a voice of the patient on national committees and task forces with over a decade of direct vascular access and parenteral and enteral focus. She has a PhD in Training and is a mother to six children with special needs, including a son who lives with a central line for lifetime nutrition support.

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

Maria Castrodad, with a strong background in Human Resources, brings a wealth of experience in efficiency and organizational skills and is excited to bring her expertise to the field of nutrition support. Passionate about fostering team collaboration, Maria looks forward to working closely with colleagues to serve and support this community. Tracey Giambertone, MS, RDN, LDN, CNSCis the Director of Corporate Engagement. Tracey started her career as an inpatient dietitian, transitioned to the world of home infusion, and, most recently, helped grow a new nutrition support device company. She has worked in a variety of leadership roles aimed at supporting patients and families on their home nutrition support journey, and is committed to bringing people together, advocating for others, and spreading kindness wherever she goes. Tracey’s wealth of experience and genuine empathy drive her to create a sense of belonging and connection within the home nutrition support community. Dedicated to making a positive impact, Tracey strives to foster connections and drive meaningful change.

 

 

 


 

 

 


Cathy Harrington
has been Oley's Administrative Assistant since 1998, and for 12 years before that she served as Secretary for Albany Medical Center’s Division of Clinical Nutrition. Cathy is the centerpiece of Oley efforts, managing the member database, answering most of your calls, and meeting the needs of the Foundation office. She is the glue that holds us together! She has experience in patient care and extensive knowledge of the nutrition support arena.

   


 

 

    

 

Jade Lusk is the Youth Program Coordinator. Her many years of experience in the childcare coordinating field allows her to step into our youth program with ease. Jade has worked hands-on with children from all backgrounds and abilities. Utilizing new communication technology, she hopes to bridge the distance between children who live with home nutrition support. Jade is excited to partner with the parents to create a safe environment where our Oley children can thrive and learn.

 


 

 

 

 

 


Alaina McCormick is the Director of Development and Communications and before joining Oley’s leadership team, Alaina managed a consumer nutrition advocacy program and was the consumer sales manager for an infusion pharmacy. Alaina is also a parent as well as the primary caregiver to her two children, boy/girl twins, with multiple health challenges. She and her daughter, Ansley, had been active members of the chronic health community before Ansley died in 2020. Ansley was on parenteral (IV) nutrition and IV hydration therapy for almost five years and enteral nutrition (tube feeding) for fifteen years. She brings a skill set to the organization that will help modernize and grow Oley, as well as her lived experience navigating complex health needs and resources in the U.S. healthcare ecosystem.

 


 


 

 

 

 

Fiorella Perlloni is our Digital Marketing Coordinator. She is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and holds a Bachelor’s in Advertising from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. Before joining The Oley Foundation, she served as the Marketing and Advertising Manager for the West Orange Chamber of Commerce. prior to that, as Digital Marketing Communications Manager for Orlando District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz. Fiorella’s expertise in advertising and brand management will help strengthen Oley’s mission and presence. “Community involvement has always been essential to me, both personally and professionally,” she shared. “I’m excited for this opportunity to stay engaged and give back.”

 

 
 
 

 

 

 

 

 

Andrea Taylor, RD, CNSC, is the Manager of National Advocacy. Andrea has been a dietitian for over seventeen years, with over fifteen of those years as a certified nutrition support clinician (CNSC). Her passion for helping people led her to Oley, where she is eager to collaborate with industry leaders and other clinicians to improve the quality of life of home tube feeding and IV nutrition consumers.

Manpreet Mundi,  MD, FASPEN 

Science & Medicine Advisor
Rochester, MN

 
Dr. Mundi graduated cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, with a double major in psychology and chemistry. He obtained a degree of Medical Doctor from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. Dr. Mundi completed a residency program in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in endocrinology at the Los Angeles County–University of Southern California Medical Center.

After completing his fellowship, Dr. Mundi joined the Mayo Clinic Division of Endocrinology as an NIH training grant fellow in Dr. Michael Jensen’s lab with a research focus in fatty acid metabolism and obesity. Dr. Mundi subsequently joined the clinical staff at Mayo Clinic as a consultant in the Division of Endocrinology nutrition core group. His clinical focus is on obesity and malnutrition with a special interest in home and inpatient nutrition support.

Dr. Mundi is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine and holds the leadership positions of Community Core group chair and Outpatient Nutrition Core group chair. He is also the medical director of the Home Enteral Nutrition Program and the associate program director of the Home Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (HPEN) Program. The HPEN program at Mayo Clinic assists 700 to 800 patients per year in initiating parenteral (IV) and enteral nutrition (tube feeding) and typically follows 1,700 to 2,000 patients annually who receive nutrition support at home. Within the HPEN program, Dr. Mundi takes a very active role in research with the goal of continuing to improve the quality of home nutrition support.

Prior to becoming the Oley Foundation Science and Medicine Advisor, Dr. Mundi served on the Oley Foundation Board of Trustees (2016-2022) and Research Committee.

 


Lyn Howard, MB,
FRCP, FACP

Co-Founder

Dr.
Lyn Howard sent her first patient home on nutritional support in the early 1970s, and since then she has been published widely in the home parenteral and enteral (HPEN) arena. With Clarence (“Oley”) Oldenburg’s family support, Dr. Howard started the Oley Foundation in 1983. She is an advocate of the consumer voice. She is now retired, but she continues research pertinent to HPEN and enjoys many outdoor pursuits.


Joan Bishop,
Executive Director Emeritus

 

Joan has dedicated her entire career to helping those involved in nutrition support. Her caring and service has gone above and beyond what was expected. Joan began her career with Oley in 1984, nearly its inception, as secretary and in was promoted in 1999 to Executive Director.

 

In June 2023, after nearly 40 years, Joan has officially retired from the Foundation but will continue to share her knowledge and expertise in a volunteer role. As Joan would say, you never really leave Oley.
