Oley Foundation PRIVACY POLICY

The Oley Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and website visitors. In general, the foundation only collects and stores the information that members and website visitors knowingly supply. Personal information will not be sold or shared with any company or organization for any reason. For safe keeping the database is stored and protected within a secure firewall.

The Oley Foundation is very protective of members’ right to privacy. All member information is held in the strictest of confidence.

The landscape changes when a member submits his/her name to a company or another organization for any reason. When an Oley Foundation member chooses to share contact information by, for example, responding to a non-Oley or a promotional mailing, raffle, or survey, or filling out information at a company’s exhibit at an Oley event, the member is, often unknowingly, giving the company “permission” to contact them again. The member may also be giving permission for companies to contact them by signing up for (non-Oley) newsletters or applying for (non-Oley) scholarships or grants.

The Oley Foundation may share a member’s name and contacting information with other members or nutrition support consumers/caregivers for networking purposes, but only after getting permission from the member first.

Nutrition support consumers and caregivers who have shared their stories and provided their names and contacting information on this website should not be contacted by third parties for solicitation, marketing, or research purposes.

Third Parties

Mailing labels are prepared in-house and sent to the Oley Foundation’s mailing service for the purpose of sending the newsletter and other Oley mailings only. Oley’s mailing service has agreed to respect members’ right to privacy and will not sell or share member’s name or information. Promotional emails, when sent by the Oley Foundation on behalf of Oley sponsors, are sent directly by Oley.

The Oley Foundation provides information through its website as a service to the home parenteral and/or enteral nutrition community, in keeping with its mission. The website is not intended to provide medical advice or recommend a course of treatment. Oley Foundation members and website visitors should discuss all issues, ideas, suggestions, etc., with their healthcare provider prior to use. The Foundation does not guarantee the accuracy of the information presented and is not liable if information is incorrect or incomplete. Users who do not agree with these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, should refrain from using the services, or visiting the Website.

Membership

The Oley Foundation encourages visitors to join the Foundation, at no charge, to receive future emails and/or mailings, but a visitor does not have to become a member to use the website. Membership data is provided voluntarily. It is used to help the Oley Foundation improve the services it offers, and to help advocate for the home parenteral and/or enteral community. The Oley Foundation reserves the right to share general data related to membership, for example, the number of Oley members who are on home tube feeding, or the number of members who are registered dietitians. Members may access and edit their information at any time by signing in and selecting “Edit My Profile” on Oley.org. This can also be done by contacting the Oley Foundation directly. The Oley Foundation periodically sends members emails regarding items of interest. Members may select the types of emails they would like to receive and/or “opt out” or unsubscribe to those they do not. Members do not have access to other members’ profiles or data. We do not allow member-to-member messaging or blog posts. Oley does not share member’s information without obtaining permission from that member first.

Find a Healthcare Professional

Professionals who register for the Find a Healthcare Professional directory agree to allow the Oley Foundation to publicly share the information they give when registering. See more at oley.org.

Order Forms

Through oley.org members can request information, register for events, access the Oley store, make donations, etc. Through these forms Oley may collect contact information (such as e-mail address) and/or financial information (like account or credit card numbers). The information obtained is used to fulfill requests or process payments/donations. It may also be used to send information about Oley, or to get in touch with members when necessary.

Contact information for members who use the Equipment Supply Exchange will be shared with others using the program to donate or obtain supplies, as deemed appropriate by Oley Foundation staff and/or volunteers, and as outlined in the program description. Credit Card Information 
The Oley Foundation does not disclose or save credit card account information provided by its members, website visitors, and donors. When members choose to pay using their credit cards, Oley submits only the information needed to obtain payment. Credit card information is not saved or maintained in any Oley database.
