Main Sessions, Breakout Sessions & Tube Feeding Workshop—Learning Opportunities Abound!
Presentations are coordinated to boost your understanding of the therapies that sustain you or your loved one. Formal morning sessions are followed by informal afternoon breakout sessions and the interactive Tube Feeding Workshop. See the Program-At-A-Glance (next page) for a tentative list of topics to be covered. Stay tuned to www.oley.org/AnnualConference for updates on topics and speakers.
Kidz Club—New This Year!
Kidz Club is designed to provide supervised entertainment for kids while parents attend educational sessions. Age-appropriate activities will be offered in the Playschool Room (infants to 8 years old), and Tween Room (9 to 14 years old). Morning and afternoon sessions will be provided. Kids must be registered online by June 14 to participate.
Tweens are welcome to “hang out,” enjoy video games, and chat with their peers in the Tween Room Monday and Tuesday morning, and Tuesday afternoon. Monday afternoon, there will be a Tween breakout session, where youth will come together with a moderator to discuss issues of importance to them, centering on things connected to HPEN. Limited supervision will be provided; parental permission is required.
Note that we cannot provide medical care; hook up, disconnect, or troubleshoot infusions or tube feeding; change ostomy bags; administer medications; and so on.
Ambassador Workshop/Volunteer Info Session
Planned for “official” Oley volunteers, but open to anyone interested in serving Oley through outreach, social networking, etc. Learn how to share your time and talents to advance the Oley mission. For more information contact Lisa at metzgel@amc.edu. Indicate your interest when registering.
Jammin’ Jammies
A chaperoned activity is planned for children ages 7+ on Tuesday, June 26 in the evening! A choice of G or PG movie will be shown, and kids can create fun memories with friends in our photo booth! Parents are welcome to join in the festivities.
Walkathon Raises Funds, Awareness
Annual Walkathon registration sheets are posted at www.oley.org/ 2018walkathon.pdf. T-shirts will be provided to all walkers with a suggested minimum donation of $20. Start getting pledges today! Funds raised help support all Oley programs and are tax-deductible.
Breakfast and Brainstorming—Bring Your Questions
Breakfast and Brainstorming will be filled with expertise, experience, opportunities to ask questions—and breakfast! Interact with premier clinicians in the field of home nutrition support and experienced consumers… all eager to help you with information, support, and hope. At the conclusion we’ll capture photos, share on social media, and bid our farewells.
